      Isn’t catsup an old Chinese fish sauce?
      I know we in the West or English speaking world get our word ketchup from it.

    I haven’t picked up a salt shaker in years! But I’m amazed at how much is already in my food! Why do food manufacturers do that to us? Are they trying to kill off their customers!? Let us add our own salt to our food … Or not! Many foods taste too salty. So you’re driving away your own customers. Campbell’s and Stouffer’s pay attention! And that’s just 2 of the culprits!

      And the restuarants don’t care either. Even if I ask them NOT to add salt on my food, most of the time, it’s difficult cause they cook in batches. They say they won’t, but they try to remove as much still doesn’t work.

    Took over care for my dad last yr. Removed iodized salt completely. Found salt free substitutes. Great coment from his doc at last visit. ” Your kidney disease is reversed. Test show your kidney are that of a 24 yr old.” Not just removing the salt but added a water bottle that I fill twice a day. Deal is he drinks both before 3pm and he’s not up all night running to bathroom.

      @ms.cocoahill4258  I cut the salt back over 3 months and added spices to what I cooked. As we age our taste buds do too so we need to use a “little” more to keep closer to the same flavor profile. Dad really likes hot spices stuff. So I cook with a lot of peppers for him. Layering chilies, habonyeros, jalapeños, green peppers. Not heavy with any one type. It is hard because I can not eat or taste any of it. I am allergic to them. Lol. Ask yourself do you like warm or cool flavors. Think of spices you like the smell and flavors of. Look up combinations. Julia Child has great suggestions. Making your own at home is best. I purchase fresh herbs and grow what I can. Dry and grind if at all possible to avoid added persurevitituves. Yep it can be a pain. Stuff like herbs de Provence though is great for chicken. Remember that reducing the liquid in cooking over low heat will intensifies flavors. Down side is time. I make stuff on the weekend that I can reheat or add to meals through the week.       It’s not hidden. You’re just so used to consuming lots of salt.
      Stop consuming salt,process,and fast food for a few weeks then try to eat fast food.
      It will taste like it was dipped in salt and not even edible.
