I have cut back on my coffee and only use it (like today, when I got 3-4 hours broken sleep and had to go out… Why do I have trouble as I got older sleeping through the night. Began after the divorce. I’m torn between blaming the pills, the stress, or just ageing. Because of the pills and medical problems, my doctors (Cardiologist mostly) won’t prescribe sleep enhancement medication, so I’m left with what sleep I get. It is what it is…

I might be a rarity but all my life, coffee ☕️has made me tired. I would drink coffee at work and start nodding off at my desk. I drink orange pekoe black tea with milk when I can’t sleep and 80% of the time it knocks me out. I suffer from insomnia and when I told my dr’s tea & coffee are the only thing sometimes that help me sleep, they were puzzled. I researched that warm liquids are soothing and I figured that was why it worked. Recently, I had a consult with a nutritionist and told her the same thing. She explained….the caffeine is increasing my adrenal gland function and causing fatigue 🤯 then said no caffeine for me first thing in the morning and recommended I cut it out PERIOD! Stick to herbal tea 😫 I’ve been drinking my black tea with milk since I was a kid. That’s part of the soothing comfort.
