In this video, we’re going to look at some of the causes of dry skin and wrinkles, as well as the best natural remedies. Anything you put on the skin gets directly absorbed into your body.

Many chemicals are lurking in your skincare products and makeup. Along with the things we apply directly to our skin, pollution, smoking, diet, and UV radiation all affect the health and look of our skin.

Because your skin is mainly composed of protein and fat, a low-fat diet is one of the worst things for your skin. Seed oils, synthetic starches, and synthetic sugars also have detrimental effects on your skin health.

Seed oils like corn oil, cottonseed oil, canola oil, soy oil, safflower oil, and sunflower oil are very high in omega-6 fatty acids. These highly processed oils are deodorized and decolorized and are made using solvents like hexane. They can get lodged into your membranes and can stay there for two and a half to three years.

When you consume too many omega-6 fatty acids (seed oils) and not enough omega-3 fatty acids, you develop dry, red, flaky skin. Your skin may also start to look older.

Grass-fed beef tallow is very similar to your skin’s natural sebum and will not oxidize the skin or cause inflammation. Tallow contains vitamins A, D, E, and K and the compound CLA, which helps the skin retain moisture.

Tallow softens the skin and leaves it with a healthy glow. The nutrients in tallow can also help eliminate dark spots and wrinkles.

Tallow is fifty percent saturated fat and contains oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and linoleic acid—all of which have positive benefits for your skin.

For better skin, remove seed oils from the diet, apply tallow to the skin, and consume more omega-3 fatty acids. You should notice improvement in your skin in a matter of weeks.

Dr Berg I was just experimenting with less toxic moisturizers.
I’ve used tallow in the past, it was alright but dried out after a work shift. I’ve also used Vaseline and then Aquaphor. But I wanted to go less toxic so I’ve been trying pure glycerin right after my shower and it’s magical 😊
Super soft skin all day up until the next!
Would like to hear your thoughts on glycerin.

  • @lorinichols9996 says:

I already do a lot of these things, and have been using tallow soap for a couple of years, and I think my face is holding up pretty well at 60! Wish I knew how much was genetic good luck and how much is the result of my intentional actions, but I’ll take it either way! 😊

  • @ImaGenius40 says:

    For anyone curious:
CLA= Conjugated Linoleic Acid. Entirely different from the linoleic acid in seed oils, and not harmful at all

  • @oksanadzhavala1424 says:

You never fail to amaze/surprise us Dr. Berg! I never heard of this before! Going to give it a try! 👍🏻👍🏻

    • @lawrencetrujillo7365 says:

He’s great but he is very animal product bias, like for example when he brings up omega 3 fatty acids he always says fish oils when foods with the proper omega 3 to 6 ratio are plant based and he knows this the best you can get with meat is a 1:1 ratio as opposed to some plants which are 1:3 and even 1:5 from hemp seeds.

  • @teeashby1489 says:

My loved ones health as well as my own have improved so much from the information you share on your show, thank you!

Thank you Dr. Berg! BTW I haven’t bought any of your health products recently because I always go ‘over-board’ on Holiday Spending, and it always takes me a month or two to balance my budget again. But hopefully sometime in a future video, on skin, that you may address the question if Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) is good or bad for your skin. I’m currently fighting an aggressive case of Athlete’s Foot, that I picked-up last October while visiting friends. One ‘home-remedy’ I’ve been trying is Vick’s Vaporub, applied to the foot. It does seem to calm the itching for a few days, but I’ve also noticed that, when it returns, my entire foot; top, back and even ankles get very raw, red and itchy. Vaporub is made, partially, with Petroleum Jelly, and since the skin absorbs everything, could I be having a dermatitis reaction to the Petroleum? Whether or not that may be the case, I think I’ll switch over to tallow (luckily I already have some in the frig.) and start using Eucalyptus, Menthol, Tea Tree Oil, etc. in their pure form, or mixed with more organic ingredients. Since we’re on the question, I was also wondering if those Japanese pads that attach to the soles of your feet while you sleep, that supposedly draw-out ‘toxins’ from the body, could also work on Athlete’s Foot – if they work at all. Obviously I’ve never used them, and I’m a bit suspicious of their claims. Thank you Dr. Berg, again, for all you do. P.S. I know YouTube has supposedly down-graded you videos and making them harder to find, but at least in my case, I still get all of your notifications. but that may be because I’ve Subscribed and activated the ‘bell’ icon, for a long time. Good Luck on ALL your endeavors.

    Hi Dr Berg,

What are your thoughts on neem oil? It works wonders on my hair, it is meant to be also good for your skin. The only issue is the nasty smell 😅

  • @debpaskall says:

Will have to try Tallow. I had horrible skin because I have MCAS. After getting rid of all the chemicals inside and out, I have the best skin I’ve ever had. I only use castor oil, evoo, and kukui nut oil on my face and hair and skin. Thank you, Dr. Berg. Enjoying your videos.

Yes…and that’s because he’s a Chiropractor-Researcher and into natural health. Medical doctors, on the other hand, are corrupted by sinister practices.

Western medicine is about allopathic (drug pushing) medical systems that were originally manipulated by Rockefeller and now Big Pharm.

The AMA (and ADA) are all about greed and profit. Dr. Berg is one of those rare doctors who actually cares about other people and what ails them and cures them, rather than just treating the symptoms w/o dealing with the cause.

    Dr. Berg
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for what you do. You truly have my deepest appreciation. I do not have the time I would like to complete the thorough research information you provided.

    Dr. Berg,
For about 10 years I suffered with PVC/PAC. It literally took 3 different cardiologist and a few general practice 10 years to diagnose what was happening. Their remedy was beta blockers. I was informed that my BP naturally runs on the lower side and the beta blockers would force it down more and would cause fainting spells. Naturally I walked away from.

By the grace of God one of your videos on potassium randomly came up (prior to that I hadn’t heard of you). Since tgen my PVC/PAC have stopped and my quality of life has returned.

Something as simple as a potassium deficiency. I would also like to mention my husband had a high heart rate and high BP, as I said he HAD. Since correcting our potassium in take and our over all diet neither of us suffer those issues.

    Sincere thanks for everything!!!

Totally agree with the tallow moisturiser, it’s the best thing for winter, nothing else hydrated and soften my skin like tallow olive oil balm I get from Tassie Tallow. Unfortunately it’s too greasy for the rest of the year, I can only use it during the coldest driest time of the year since I live in Asia. I don’t have dry skin the rest of the year thanks to my high animal fat diet so I use other clean non toxic plant base skincare brands that doesn’t leave a glossy greasy finish on my face.
