Friday Favorites: Treating Reflux in Babies with Diet

Treat the cause of infant reflux with maternal cow’s milk elimination.

Maternal diets can have a direct effect on breast-fed babies, as I previously covered in Treating Infant Colic by Changing Mom’s Diet ( ) and Infant Seizures Linked to Mother’s Spirulina Use ( ).

But for mothers who are able, breast is still always best. See The Best Baby Formula ( ) and Formula for Childhood Obesity ( ).

Baby in my famiky constantly throws up after bring fed. Even after removing cows milk (mom fidnt breastfeed for long) and giving him the stinky non dairy formula (literally smells like a farm) he still throws up. Hes started soft solids several months ago and he still throws up. Mom is reintroducing fairy now that hes one month old

1 month old baby should only be drinking mother’s milk. Until 6 months old their guts cannot digest anything else and in fact permanent damage can be done to their gut by feeding them anything else. From 6 months to 1yr old they should be mostly drinking mother’s milk and according to the WHO guidelines every baby should be breastfed at least until age 2. I was breastfed til age 5 and I thank my mom every day of my life for this. She did it for my health but she also felt a lot of spiritual bliss from breastfeeding. If the mom cannot breastfeed they must get to a lactation consultant ASAP and meanwhile try to find a wet nurse.
